The ability to use digital tools has become a must for many. The epidemic has hastened the progress of digital transformation in practically all sectors, allowing entrepreneurs to use digital tools to help them recover. Today, the world has been hit by yet another unique coronavirus, and we are facing an unparalleled public health crisis. As businesses and entrepreneurs throughout the world face enormous obstacles, Alibaba has once again stepped in to assist SMEs in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic’s commercial barriers and maintaining crucial services.

Despite the fact that the current pandemic has had a significant impact on the global economy, the digital economy has shown to be crucial in combating COVID-19. Those who had previously embraced internet technology had the advantage of being able to accelerate their business growth; the capacity to use digital tools has become a requirement for enterprises to survive the current crisis. We need to assist businesses in better leveraging the digital economy and developing solutions to community problems so that they can survive the crisis and potentially thrive in the long run.

The pandemic has expedited the digital transformation process in practically every industry. As the world gradually but steadily returns to normalcy, we’ve seen how the pandemic has influenced consumer behavior in ways that are likely to last. The challenge then becomes how we can equip entrepreneurs to use digital tools and technologies to navigate the epidemic while doing so. Furthermore, as a result of COVID-19’s greater acceptance of remote work, entrepreneurs will have new chances to rethink their organizational structures, as their access to talent will be broadened beyond physical bounds. Although it is difficult to anticipate a recurrence of the virus or the pandemic’s long-term effects, the post-COVID future we imagine is one in which people and businesses are prepared and supported by technology.

The digital economy will play a critical role in many aspects of our lives, whether it is to continue commercial operations or to preserve access to fundamental necessities. This is the brave new world we will have to create together, and now is the time to empower and work with entrepreneurs to help build it.
